Her full name: Elizabeth Alexandra Mary
Born: 21 April 1926 in Mayfair, London
Died: 8September 2022, aged 96
She became the Queen on 6 February 1952 when her father died. She was only 25 years old.
Coronation: Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953
It was the first televised coronation ever. You could see it on TV.
She was the Queen of the UK and the Commonweath for 70 years and 214 days.
She was the longest recorded female state of head in history
Throughout her reign she visited many countries, five popes visited her in England.
She visited Poland in March 1996. She walked along the streets of the Warsaw Old Town, visited the King’s Palace. She also made a speech at the Polish Parliament.

She married her third cousin, Philip, Prince of Greece, who was serving in the Royal Navy. The marriage took place at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947. The prince took the title of Duke of Edinburgh. She would later describe him as „my strength and stay” through 74 years of marriage, before his death in 2021, aged 99.

Their first son, Charles, was born in 1948.
Then she had a daughter Princess Anne in 1950.
Then she had another 2 sons, Prince Andrew, in 1960, and Prince Edward, in 1964.
As a grandmother she had eight grandchildren.
And she was a great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren.

The official notice put at the gates of the Backingham Place read: „The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The whole Britain is in mourning now as all the flags are at half-mast on royal residences, government buildings, across the Armed Forces and on UK posts overseas.
A state funeral for the Queen is expected in the next two weeks.
